Schneider steps down

The founder of the Oettinger Davidoff Group, Dr Ernst Schneider, has decided to step down as the chairman of the Oettinger Imex board of directors.

Dr Schneider said the decision was to unburden himself, but remains a member of the board of directors.

When he took over the Geneva tobacco shop from Zino Davidoff in 1970, Dr Schneider laid the foundation for Davidoff as a successful brand.

He will be succeeded by Riccardo Gullotti, who has been on the board since 2000.

Operational management of the group will continue to be carried out by Reto Cina, company CEO.
