Sliver liningOne of the industry’s most coveted honours has been awarded to London cigar merchant Desmond Sautter of Sautters of Mayfair. The Silver Chaveta trophy is presented annually by Hunters and Frankau to a United Kingdom specialist in Havanas for outstanding contributions to the cigar trade. Desmond was presented with the award at a dinner hosted by Hunters recently. Unlike in previous years, there were no other nominations for the award as Hunters wanted to solely recognise Desmond's outstanding contribution and total commitment to the UK cigar trade for the past 48 years. His experience and knowledge of all things Habanos is second to none and he is a worthy recipient of this coveted award. Desmond has been in the trade since 1958 and holds an enviable array of vintage Habanos in his shop in Mayfair.
