Fiesta time

Once again it is time to celebrate Cuban cigars in Latin style with the 2006 Habanos Festival.

Preparations are well underway for days packed with excitement and memorable events at this year’s festival in Cuba, due to be held from February 27 to March 3.

The 2006 festival will celebrate Cohiba’s 40th birthday with a special gala dinner on the last day.

Anyone making the pilgrimage to Havana can expect a feast of events, including factory visits, the finals of the Habanosommelier competition, seminars on cigar history and other contests.

Romeo y Julieta has been named the signature Habanos brand for 2006, following in Partagas’ footsteps from 2005, so cigar enthusiasts can expect a new size to be released at the festival.

The opening night of the festival will be dedicated to Romeo and will include a specially commissioned ballet at Havana’s Gran Teatro.
