A dream fulfilled

In the last edition of Cigar Buyer Mitch Orchant said that winning a Silver Chaveta was one of his greatest ambitions – and now it has been fulfilled.

Hunters & Frankau, sole United Kingdom importers of Havana cigars, handed out the prestigious award during its annual dinner at Sartoria in London’s Saville Row, attended by the company’s top brass including Simon Chase, John Darnton and Ana Lopez.

The award is given to a UK retailer specialising in Havanas in recognition of outstanding contribution to the cigar trade.

Other retailers nominated this year for the award included:
• Burlington Bertie, London
• Seegar and Snuff Parlour Convent garden
• Dunhill London
• Broadweighs cigars in Teddington
• Herbert Love, Glasgow

Several fine cigars including, Trinidad Coloniales, Robusto Extras and Cuaba Diademas, and Champagne were enjoyed during the evening.

The beautiful Silver Chaveta was designed by Theo Fennell and is now proudly on display in Mitchell’s London offices
