It's a job for... Superman

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s Superman, the real name of a real cigar blender who has been quietly working at Davidoff’s cigar factory in the Dominican Republic for the last 10 years or so.

“Superman was the Christian name given to me by my mother and father,” said the mild-mannered young cigar hero, “and no, my other name is not Clark Kent.” He may lack the super-powers of his namesake, but Davidoff’s Superman is renowned for his super-ability to sense a fine premium cigar. “I fight evil in my own way,” he said, “and a bad smoke is bad for Davidoff’s reputation.” Not that there’s much chance of that for, with their very own Superman’s help, Davidoff’s cigar sales are still rising: up, up and away.

“You could say that a real-life Superman has been protecting Davidoff’s premium cigars for over a decade,” said the Dominican superhero’s supervisor.

“Not that we’re expecting any kryptonite, of course.”
