Family SecretIn 2004, the Toraño family unveiled their unbanded “mystery cigar,” which had been appearing at events for some time. Toraño rollers at the events would hand these unbanded, freshly-rolled cigars to attendees, always to enthusiastic acclaim. Finally, President Charlie Toraño revealed this had been the family’s private cigar for some years, and that they were now introducing it to the smoking public. It was introduced as “Casa Toraño,” and is a mild-bodied but explosively flavourful cigar that appeals to smokers who give more priority to a cigar’s flavour than its strength. Director of marketing Aaron Guenther said: “We’re sensing a movement toward long, thin shapes like the Lancero over the next two to three years, and we’d like to be one of the first to explore this potential new market segment.” Presentation for Casa Toraño Maduro cigars will be 25-cigar “dress-up” boxes in the traditional Cuban style. According to Guenther, “The all-new blend will include a maduro wrapper that is naturally fermented, for a richer, sweeter flavor profile and aroma. This is a bold, enticing blend we Toraños smoke in the factory and office.” By Rob Allanson Section : News Page number : 4 This article is 17 months old and some information provided may be time sensitive.
