Montecristo and Cuaba size it upHabanos SA is set to break new ground for its Montecristo range for the first time in 30 years by launching it in a new size. And it seems that size is everything at the moment, as two new sizes have recently been added to the Cuaba range.Habanos SA will launch a cigar that is five inches or 135 millimetres long under the name Edmundo in May. After the world launch Hunters & Frankau will be holding selected tastings in London. The recent additions to the Cuaba range are the Salamones, which measures seven inches (190mm) with a 57 ring gauge; and the Distinguidos, which measures six inches (160mm) with a 52 ring gauge. Both are presented in boxes of 10 and the Salamones is now the largest vitola on offer across the range. All Cuabas are double figurados or shaped cigars, a style that became famous at the end of the 19th century. The fashion was revived with the launch of Cuaba in 1996.
